There are different types of gasket cutting offered in the market. Usually it includes soft cut,The Process of Cutting Gaskets and Types of Gaskets Articles metallic and semi-metallic gaskets based on different standards like DIN, ANSI and BST. For cutting gaskets, various materials are used such as: Non-Asbestos Fibre, Composite Gaskets, Metallic & Semi-Metallic, PTFE and Natural/Synthetic rubbers. Most of the requirements are according to design, material and the specific bespoke gasket services. In general, CAD/CAM machines are used and gaskets can be manufactured by using samples and drawings.

The professional gasket cutting services provide site visits in order to ensure accurate understanding of the requirement and accuracy of the job. The process is started after the survey is conducted because each machine requirement or industry requirement is different. A good company will always provide good customer support if you need change in dimensions of the gasket.

There are different types of gaskets used according to the requirements. In most cases, Multi Seal Gasket is used.  For example, sealing of glass lined pipes and vessels require special type of sealing. For this purpose, Multiseal PTFE envelope gaskets are used. The best gaskets can operate at a temperature of 60 degrees to +230 degrees.

Due to the extreme requirements Multi Seal Gaskets are required; they are manufactured by a unique process that provides excellent compression properties. You can use this in conjunction with a corrugated steel ring and PTFE envelope. This can seal at minimum load of 8 N/mm2 and can also bear the maximum load of 20 N/mm2 if needed. These loads are specifically for glass lined equipments.

There is also a bull nose design of the PTFE envelope with diffusion stop, which is used to provide superior mechanical performance and also reduces the permeability from chemicals and vapours. The use of hard gaskets may damage the nozzles. When there is high degree of distortion, gaskets should be shimmed with using epoxy resin. The gaskets should bear 40 bar pressure depending on the size.

Most of the gaskets are according to the requirements, but there are different styles of the gaskets such as:

Washers

Washers are available in different shapes, sizes and folded from various materials like copper, stainless steel, brass and steel. Washers are used for different sealing requirements.

Exhaust Gaskets

Exhaust Gaskets are suitable for various applications including use with high temperature catalytic converters. This includes gaskets in various forms like flat, olives, laminated, composite and shim type constructions.

Shims

Shims are mainly used to make fine adjustments to meet close working tolerances and made of thin metal. Shims are available in any shapes including the material steel, brass, and copper shims.

Non-Asbestos Fibre

This is made by compressing sheet fibre used for various industrial and original equipment applications where sealing performance is the major consideration. The non-asbestos fibre materials offer outstanding performance in a wide variety of applications. Compressed sheet joining is used in various industrial applications including aerospace, chemical processing, automotive, power generation and water.
