Every corporate should learn to understand the talent pool in their existing employees ....
Developing an internal candidate to a senior position in most corporate will be resisted to a great extent by the people. Interestingly, some of the senior managers or the policy makers in many corporate also oppose such move as they presume that these birds in the flock are not fit for the new job.
Most organizations fail to see the admiring qualities in the people with whom they have been working for quite sometime. It is purely the mind set that refuse to see the truth as ‘what is’ than ‘how it should be’. Well adapted or to be adapted is most suitable for the corporate ecosystem? This question should be understood well both by the employees as well as the corporate as both dislike seeing a very familiar and known person to be their prospective leader.
Our mind is tuned to the rhythm of claiming everything about what it has seen or been associate with for a period of time. But the truth is that the mind creates a sweeping imagination about someone/something as it knows fully about is strictly far from truth.
Have we ever looked at or admired or appreciated the intelligence of a street mongrel? How intelligently it lives along with human beings even in the busiest cities. How carefully it learns to cross the road when the signal is on/off. How carefully it moves around in the busy roads by avoiding accidents. How nicely it adjusts in the least space available. Have we ever noticed the intelligence of this animal? See how the street cows find their space in the busy road? Have we ever accepted the intelligence of a crow or a cow? There are many occasions; the crow tries to open the tap to drink water. How it had learned this art? How nicely the blue rock pigeon build its nest in the human vicinity.
Unfortunately, none of these animals look beautiful, appreciable or intelligent to us because we have been seeing them every day. They are very common and are almost present everywhere. The unknown fact is that none of the animals would have developed or acquired as good intelligence as a crow or a mongrel or a pigeon or cattle. They are watching & observing man and are learning many things from him every day.
Just by making a small sound ‘crock…’ crows would come to the balcony or terrace to see any eatable is offered to them. Although feeding crow is a very common and also a have great religious sentiments are attached to it, crow never takes a chance to come close to man or trust him beyond a point. In general, man had never attacked crows even then crows are very careful with man. Is it not a great sign of an intelligent act? Shouldn’t such an act deserve appreciation and notice?
This is how the talents of employees in most corporate. By existing in the same organization for a longer period of time, they would have acquired all the tricks of survival. When a boss thinks of himself/herself to be intelligent, his/her subordinate too has to be intelligent as many things in the industry these people tend to learn from their bosses. Do not dismiss the possibility of seeing a potential leader in your pack in the name of you know everything. Many rare things can be seen and discovered from very ordinary things. All one need is pure and immaculate observation and acceptance.
