You may be one of those people who are fortunate enough to have a real love of the work that they do. If this does accurately describe your position, then you are certainly to be congratulated. Indeed, it's probably fair to say that many people will feel a sense of envy towards you.

There are plenty of people who are in the position of seeing work as being something of a chore. While this is a shame, it's also something that we may come to accept as being central to life. You may not enjoy every minute that you're in the office, but it makes sense to maintain a positive and professional attitude. If you choose to be negative about everything, then the irony is that you'll find that your situation simply feels worse.

But this is easy to say. It may be much harder to behave in this way. Let's think, for example, about the fact that working life involves dealing with lots of different people. Some of those people may complain, while others fail to find anything positive about any situation. This can be extremely annoying.

If customers are annoying you, then you can sometimes let off steam when talking to colleagues. If that's a course of action that you like to take, then it's important that you consider whether the comments that you make are appropriate. But it's something that may well work for you.

What happens when your working relationships with colleagues start to encounter difficulties? My own view here is that this is a situation that can be incredibly difficult to handle. Indeed, it's also something that many people dread.

You may feel that you're doing your job really well, but that a colleague isn't helping out. There may even be a situation where you feel that you're working longer hours, or putting in more effort. You might look to resolve these issues directly, or by communicating such problems with a senior member of staff.

In such circumstances, it's worth remembering that your own positive approach to the workplace will put you in a good position. You'll be able to worry a lot less if you know that there can be no accusation associated with your own efforts.
