I want to talk to you about the law enforcement recruitment exam. There have been a lot of shattered dreams because of this exam, so I think it is best that you know what you're getting into. This exam isn't designed to be fair or objective. It's hard because they want the best of the best. On average, more than 70% of people will end up failing this test, so it should help wake you up to what you're really going to face. The first thing you need to know is that the exam is designed to be test on your knowledge of the job. A lot of people assume the exam will ask questions that they can simply memorize. They're really not interested in seeing if you can memorize. They want to test the very things you'll need on the job and the questions will be exactly like that. The wording of questions will be along the lines of 'what would you do if...', 'how would you handle...', etc.

The law enforcement recruitment exam will measure things you probably never thought was needed; like writing skills. You need to be able to write because you have to write a lot of reports as an officer of the law. Your reports will end up in courts, so you'll have to make sure you do it right.
