The Nokia N95 was a blockbuster best seller and the Nokia N95 8GB (gigabytes) is still an incredible leap forward in terms of the improvements over the original N95.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Nokia N95 8GB is the sleek new black case.   A superior ergonomic design makes the new Nokia a good fit for most hands,Nokia N95 8 GB – The Latest Blockbuster Articles and the 128 g of weight give it a solid feel without feeling heavy.  The black case makes the perfect frame for the larger 2.8-inch screen that dominates the design of the phone and displays eye-popping photos in sixteen million colors.  Although the new design is sleeker and slicker, one of the first things we noticed is that the design isn’t significantly slimmer.  The N95 8GB isn’t known for being a discreet fit in a pocket – it’s still a bit on the bulky side.

The larger screen makes viewing content enjoyable, particularly when watching videos or surfing the web.    The touch screen features the best in touch screen technology and usability.  Although the icons are smaller than they were in the Nokia N95, they are still easily activated and we found it rare to accidentally activate the wrong icon, unlike most other camera phone touch screens.

Nokia pared down the original N95 home page and dispensed with a media menu that most users found useless and redundant.  The interface was fast to use and the N95 8GB booted up impressively fast - especially compared to the N95.  Users of the Nokia N95 will particularly appreciate the improvement in memory management, which seems to make those “Out of memory” errors a thing of the past.

One of the biggest and most noticeable improvements the N95 8GB offers lies in its very name – chiefly the 8GB of flash memory storage.  This cell phone advertised as “many things” gives you have all the storage space you’re going to ever need to make sure this phone lives up to its name.   As a portable multimedia player – MP3, WMA, MPEG and the like – you’ve got plenty of room to record, store and transport your favorite music and video.

With this newest version of the N95, Nokia dispensed with the removable memory card.  Some users may not like the additional fussiness of having to use a USB cable instead of a card reader, one of the few drawbacks to this phone.  With the expanded onboard storage of 8GB most users will not find that a noticeable drawback.

The camera takes shots up to 5 mega pixels, and the video capture is in VGA of up to 30 fps (frames per second).  Video mode captures sound in stereo.  With Automatic Screen Rotation (ASR) means being able to view your pictures and videos without needing to twist and turn the phone to accommodate the way the picture was taken, adding a nice touch of usability to an already muscular Smart Phone.

All in all, we can – almost without reservation – recommend the Nokia N95GB for users ranging from personal users to power users.
