Nokia N95 8GB – Moving At the Speed of Modern Life

Anyone alive and well in the 21st century has good reason to feel that most of our time and energy doesn’t go in to getting ahead or even keeping up, anymore.  We spend most of our time trying to keep from falling behind any worse than we already are.  Owning the right tools is increasingly important and thankfully manufacturers are working to simplify our lives as much as possible by converging tools, and the Nokia N95 NGB is a happy addition to the collection.

Bristling with the latest technologies, the N95 8GB is the latest improvement over the Nokia N95. The new edition features an updated all black finish that just screams sexy and cool, as well as a sleeker and more utilitarian design overall.  The N95 8GB uses one of the latest generation of mobile connections with High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA); so it not only boasts blazing fast speeds it also carries increased transfer capacities.

Determined to craft itself into the Swiss Army Knife of mobile phones, the new Nokia could easily stand alone as a serviceable digital camera with a whopping 5 megapixel resolution for still shots and a video capture resolution of up to 640 x 480 pixels with stereo sound.  It has built-in autofocus with automatic redeye reduction and even includes a 10x digital zoom.  There’s built in functionality for interacting directly with your laptop or computer and it even supports direct uploads to some of your favorite weblogs or picture sharing sites.

If sitting around for hours in airports with nothing to do seems to be your lot in life, the Nokia N95 8 GB also supports the Nokia N-Gage Arena gaming service, a direct competitor to Game Boy.  You can log on and play the latest games or network with other users. 

You also have extended multi-media support if gaming is not your thing.  You can listen to your favorite mp3s, watch your favorite movie files on a delicious 16 million color screen, or even listen to FM radio. 

Once you are out of the airport and onto the road you can also make good and efficient use of your drive time by using the onboard GPS.  Answering complaints about the amount of the time the original N95 took to get a GPS fix, the new Nokia uses A-GPS for a faster fix time.  You’ll still have to subscribe to get more than a basic map function, but A-GPS is sure to give you your money’s worth, now.

If that’s not enough to already have you salivating for this particular tech toy, keep it in mind it also has email functionality that even supports attachments, web surfing, and the latest in PIM (Personal Information Management) software.

All of these muscular functions operate with – as the name implies - 8 gigabytes of storage to play with.  You’ll not only have all the storage space you need for your favorite songs as well as all of your work data, you might even have enough room left over to carry the latest blockbuster flick around with you.  And the best part?  There’s always next year’s model forward to, too.  I can’t wait to see how they manage to pull off topping this year’s.
