In areas covered by 3G, access to the Internet is provided courtesy of an HSDPA connection at speeds of up to 10.2 mega bytes per second in conjunction with HSUPA at 2 MB per second. Wi-Fi Technology provides a much faster connection in areas where a wireless Internet router is located. Both Bluetooth and micro USB connections provide the means to connect the Sony Ericsson Vivaz to a number of different devices including other phones and computers. This allows a range of different tasks to be carried out such as backing up contact information or sharing and transferring media files.
