When you buy the cards they will come in an air tight sealed package. In fact, you should make sure that they come in such secure packaging. This is the only guarantee you have that they have not been exposed to any dust or dirt. If when you are about to use your cards you realize that they package is damaged, you should return it immediately and replace it for a new set of cards. Take them out of the packet carefully and grab them just by the sides so that you prevent your fingertips from being in contact with the surface of the card. Load them immediately in the card printer and, the ones you do not use, put them away in a ziplock type plastic bag.
