I remember the old days when Starcraft first came out. Me and my friends would stay up till dawn playing the game. It was all out war. Sometimes it would carry over at work the next day. I had no idea how serious some guys took this game. One friend claimed that it was his new religion. I don't know about that but he's probably going to burn for that one. When I first started out I really sucked. I mean badly. It was becoming a joke. I was the last guy picked to team up and I was the first guy sitting there with my base in smoking ruins all of my work destroyed. I was beyond pissed. I was ready to give up. Immediately my game started to improve. I was learning how to gather and build faster and in the best order. I was starting to win battles by knowing tactics, strengths and weaknesses. My bud's were asking me how did you do this or that. I figured I would let them figure it out on their own just like they let me. The Battle.net was in it's infancy back then and going through some growing pains, Lag and dropped games were common but it always improved. We were doing pretty good for a bunch of rednecks, winning games and having a blast with it. We were becoming a force to be reckoned with. Blizzard was doing a hell of a job fixing things on the bnet. The games were running smooth with few drops. That's when the other problems started showing up. Loser hacks and cheats took over. There was no honor left there. It was just who had the newest cheat code. It sucked hard. We went back to private game mode. From there we stopped playing all together. When I heard that there was a new Starcraft 2 coming out it stirred up the old glory days. I wonder what the boys think about it. Battle.net is taking the hard line on loser hack and cheat tactics. One things certain. I'll be getting a little help this time right off the bat. Guide in hand I'm already kicking a** and taking names. So what is the take away? If you suck at this game don't wait to get better all on your own. There is a way to get a whole lot better a whole lot faster. Get a starcraft 2 guide and use it. Simple as that.
