How this one improv show made me want to sign up for improv classes. They used this powerful method that you can implement to your email marketing right away.
In summer of 2019, one of my oldest friends and I went on a weekend trip to Chicago. It was pretty interesting considering it was our first time planning a long distance trip together.
Although parts of the trip didn’t go as planned, we still had some pretty good experiences.
Seeing the beautiful city skyline.
Eating their famous deep dish pizza.
Visiting their museums.
And watching their local improv comedy shows.
Fun fact: It was my very first time attending improv comedy shows, and we went to two shows. When I sat through the first one, I was amazed to say the least. And it was clear that the performers I watched had a lot of experience under their belt.
They were really good at finding comedy out of the smallest things.
They were amazingly quick thinkers.
And the teamwork between the group members was perfect.
There was not a moment of boredom throughout the show.
At the end, they advertised their own improv classes. I left the venue with a sudden desire to sign up for improv classes, and that desire lingered for a couple of weeks.
It’s amazing how they were able to create that desire in myself while mentioning it only a single time throughout the show.
How were they able to do that? To be honest, I’m not sure. That’s something I’m still trying to figure out till this day. But what they did is not so different from what I teach in "How to Become an Email Titan."
Entertain your readers first, and then sell at the end.
And when I say entertain, it doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be funny. Entertainment comes in other forms in addition to humor. So if you think you’re not funny and have a boring personality….
Number one, you’re probably wrong and selling yourself short.
And number two, you can still use this method to your advantage in your own business.
