You didn't throw your money away when you signed up for your online dating service,The 3 Most Common Mistakes When Writing An Online Dating Profile Articles but you probably made some serious errors when you built your profile - serious enough that you're just getting ignored.
Let's take another look at your profile and fix some of the biggest or most common errors you have probably made:
Mistake #1: Does Your Online Dating Profile Read Like It Was Written by a Caveman for Cavemen?
Guys talk like guys. That's fine for talking to other guys. You've got to talk in a way that gets a woman's attention. Most men are pretty straight forward. They think in terms of facts and truths. "I'm a happy guy." "I like to have fun." "I like funny women."
Statements like those are lady-killers and not in a good way. Think about it, a woman doesn't want a series of little factoids. That's yawn city. Women are interested in the man, not what the man owns or where he lives or how tall he his. So, shuck the facts; show her who you are, not what you are.
The Fix: Weave stories around the facts of your life that let her see who you are. Wax poetic: "When I go camping in the woods, I love the way the morning sun dapples the forest floor." Dig? You've told her so much more about yourself than, "I like to go camping."
Mistake #2: A Profile Picture That Makes Her Wish You'd Left It Blank.
Please, before you post your picture, give it some thought. The picture is supposed to show you at your best. Are you out of focus? Are you doing something you often do? Are you cutesy? Probably none of those, so don't post it.
Body parts are are really horrible to put in a photo. You might have some great abs or pecs, but that's not all you're about. Is it? She'll get to see those soon enough. Leave something to the imagination.
The Fix: Don't settle for any old snapshot - get a nice shot of yourself. Your profile photo doesn't have to be a studio portrait. A nice picture that handsomely shows you at your happy best will suffice. Maybe doing something you've written about in your profile.
Mistake #3: Profile Name That Elicits Groans.
One of the most important things to consider is figuring a name to match yourself. Don't do something drab like "Robert1985". And don't do pitiful names such as "Searching4U" or "LetsGo4It".
The Fix: You need something memorable and interesting, just like yourself, such as "Gears&Guitars" if you're into hot cars and hot rock. An overtly sexual user name is, once again, a little pathetic. But a name that could be taken one of two ways might work. Let her wonder about "AnimalLover", especially if you've mentioned in your profile that you're a veterinarian.
Following these words of advice will help you immensely when you sit down and start crafting your online profile. And the women will take note.
Once you've posted your profile using these guidelines, there's a good chance that the women may start messaging you.
