Once you have an official eBay store up and running, you will most likely see an increase in both traffic and business. As this happens, you will probably want to customize your store to reflect your own personality and business style (but remember, keeping the store looking clean, polished, and professional trumps all else). Fortunately, altering and customizing your store is very easy.

Once you have an official eBay store up and running,How to Customize Your eBay Store Articles you will most likely see an increase in both traffic and business. As this happens, you will probably want to customize your store to reflect your own personality and business style (but remember, keeping the store looking clean, polished, and professional trumps all else). Fortunately, altering and customizing your store is very easy to do.

eBay offers a "Quick Store Setup," which is probably your best bet for an easy instant store makeover. The setup includes drop-down menus that let you choose headers, background colors, tables, and the like. Plus, going this route only takes a few minutes. The downside to this option is that you are choosing from eBay's preset options in each category, and, therefore, "customization" is limited to the different combinations of the pre-existing settings.

If you want to be more detailed, though, you can create a personalized store logo using programs like Paint and Photoshop. Alternatively, you can hire a graphic designer to create the logo for you (simple designs can be as low as $20).

If you have a customized logo, it is definitely a good idea to match the color scheme of your store to the logo itself. Avoid colors that clash at all costs. The background of your store does not have to be just one color, though. You can customize that, as well. Your store's wallpaper can be a set of colors, graphics, or some combination thereof. A little HTML finagling is all you need. Just remember not to go overboard.

An attractive storefront can do wonders for increasing both traffic and sales. Putting effort into your eBay store tells customers that you are serious about your business; plus it helps to differentiate you from everyone else. When customers are predominantly seeing and interacting with online storefronts, it is important that the store is attractive, easy to navigate, and stands out from the crowd. However, your store's appearance should be a continuous effort. As your business grows and changes, do not be shy to update and change the look and feel of your store, especially if you ever drastically change the kind of items you are selling.

So be sure to always keep your storefront current and fresh. Large corporations often revamp their websites and logos, so feel free to do the same. You and your eBay store should grow and develop together.
