The sad fact is that a significant number of the older generation are simply not going to be able to retire at 65. Our dream of financial freedom has become a myth. Now it's even worse! In the current economic conditions you are not going to be given that choice. If you haven't lost your job already you can sense the faceless ones lining you up for the golden bullet.
I wrote about financial freedom a while back with the purpose of encouraging the older generation to seriously think about internet marketing as the method to create wealth. At that time, as well as considering my own situation, I knew that many of us 'oldies' would be facing a hard time in retirement.
This wasn't just about our dwindling pension plan; it also had to do with the fact that many of us were going to live a lot longer than previous generations. The sad fact is that a significant number of you are simply not going to be able to retire at 65. Our dream of financial freedom has become a myth.
Now it's worse! You knew that you couldn't afford to retire and would have to continue working because you would not have had time to really create wealth. Well here's the kicker. In the current economic conditions you are not going to be given that choice. If you haven't lost your job already you can sense the faceless ones lining you up for the golden bullet.
What to do? The answer lies in my earlier article. Become an online marketer.
You are in an age group that did not grow up with computers and didn't really understand that 'internet thing'. However, your kids and grandkids have. If you asked them I bet they would love to help. You will need to get moving because I believe it is only a matter of time before the prospect of financial freedom will have eluded you.
Here's the thing. The desire to create wealth by the time you retire should not just be a whimsical dream. It is your right. Why else would you put in the years of hard slog? You have a right to retire at the level of comfort you desire.
And you have everything going for you.
You see, what I like about you (us) 'Oldies' is your work ethic. As a group you were raised in an era when the proper work ethic was taught, shown to you by example and encouraged. You have the attitude and perseverance needed to learn and survive in this mysterious world.
Now you have a real incentive - a need to make more money to supplement your retirement. Of course these things no longer apply to just your generation. Many people of all age groups are desperately seeking ways to survive the economic times.
Current online marketers will have to consider your needs because they need you! Unlike the competitive employment situation that you have been used to, with its high pressure, blame culture and knife in the back syndrome, online marketers co-operate with each other. They create a marketplace where money is made by helping other people to make money. What you must do is find the mentors who will make it easy for you. You will need a genuine step by step process for getting started and surviving. This is not to say that it will be easy - avoid people making those claims. Hard work is involved and maybe longer hours to start with. There is a lot to learn.
And you will need some start up cash. I'm talking hundreds, not thousands - even less. However it will not be anything like the sums you would require if you were starting a traditional business.
Good luck.
