Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is one of the most important MBA exam in the country. Here are all the details of the exam.

National Level. The test is taken up by a large number of aspirants all across the country. Even

some reputed international Management schools accept MAT score for admission to their MBA

programs. This is one of the oldest yet a popular MBA entrance exam, from the time of its

commencement in 1988.AIMA is the conducting body of MAT exam.

Graduates with more than 50% Marks in any discipline are eligible to apply. Those in the final

year of their Graduation can also take up the test. The most advantageous part of the exam is that

it is conducted four times in a year namely in the months of January, May, September &

December respectively.so, a candidate can take up exam in his 2nd, 3rd,4th attempts also and

he/she can ensure to achieve the best score to land into an institution of his/her dream.

Unlike other Management entrance tests MAT also intends to judge the candidates on the basis

of their general aptitude .There are five sections namely Quantitative Aptitude, Logical reasoning,

Data Interpretation, General English , and Indian & global environment.(AIMA) is the conducting

body of MAT 2016. There is a total of 200 questions for which a time duration of 150 minutes is allotted.

Since one section is added so time management will play a crucial role in deciding the score of a

candidate. The added section is from Indian and global environment which is a general

awareness based topic about the environment so it is going to play a very decisive role in overall

score because candidates normally are not so inclined about environmental issues.

Going through Science Reporter, Science & Technology page of Times of India will really be

helpful in preparing for this section. For rest of all the four sections, practicing last year question

papers is necessary to fetch a decent score.

Around 12­15% of Candidates come up with a very decent score it is therefore very competitive.

Also, the number of candidates keeps on growing every year which impacts cut­off score of

various participating Institutions. The approach in the right direction with right approach will help a

candidate to earn the institution of his/her dream.
