All sorts of questions start to pop into your head. How am I going to pack-up all this stuff? How do I get a removal company? Who’s going to help with moving my pets? It’s really easy to get your-self in a right old pickle….however; this article is here to help!

First of all,How are you Planning Your House Move? Articles calm down this is a new and exciting change in your life and you’ve probably just secured your new dream home in a place you’ve always wanted to live. What you need is a nice cup of tea and a sit-down with a notepad. Moving home is all about check lists.

Start by writing down the most important things that need doing first…for example:

What needs packing and what doesn’t
How to get packing materials
Find a removal company
Make sure I get the electric and any other utilities cut-off
Get my post forwarded to the new address
Get a list (yes another one) of all the people I need to write to so I can let them know my new address. With this one it’s a good idea to get some sticky labels. That way you only have to type the letter once and print it off. You can then do all the addresses and print them together. It will make this job much easier.

This is just an example of what your list will start to look like; it will more than likely grow as you remember things that need doing. The trick is to keep it to hand at all times so the minute you think of something you can write it down.

The other thing you should do is make sure you know what dates you need to have tasks completed by. Packing isn’t the only aspect of moving home, as seen above there are a good number of other tasks that need completing as well. Get a calendar that’s dedicated to your move and use it note down when your deadlines are.

Another thing to consider is budget….don’t let this get out of hand. For instance, when you’re looking for a removal company do not just choose the first one you come across. Instead, get a few quotes so you can compare prices and don’t think “cheapest is always best”, this isn’t the case. You need to decide on the level of service you need and what sort of reputation the company has.

You also need to think about what you’re going to take with you when you move. Now is the time for a good old clear out and be ruthless! If you take belongings that you don’t really need, this will raise the cost of the removal overall. Have a car boot sale and make some extra cash from the things you don’t need.

If you follow some of the advice given here, your move should go without a hitch and you’ll be settled in your new home before you know it!
