Constantly Feeling Tired and Has No Energy – Sugar Overload
Sugar is good for the body because it provides energy. Too much sugar though is not advisable because it can lead to certain medical conditions such as diabetes and depression. Too much sugar can also cause tiredness and weakness.
You probably do not know but all the food that you are eating is loaded with sugar unless you are eating the sugar-free stuff. Filling yourself with these stuff will give you energy – a burst of energy that you probably need right now. However,
this burst of energy will easily fade and will just result in a crash. In fact, too much sugar intake can slow down the metabolism which then results to feeling tired and weak.
A lot of people believe that sugar can save them whenever they have no energy. It is a common misconception that when you are tried, you just have to munch on some sweets and you will feel energized again. This is only partly true and temporary. It is true that sugar gives energy but because of sugar, you will lose much more energy than you have gained.
The reason behind sugar overload and tiredness is the fluctuating sugar level in the blood. When you eat food that is rich in sugar, the sugar level in your body will definitely increase. Of course, the body will have to regulate this sugar burst in order to keep everything balanced. As a result, the brain will signal the pancreas to secrete insulin, the hormone which regulates the sugar level in the blood. When insulin starts to act, the sugar level will exponentially decrease. This sudden decrease of sugar level will leave you feeling tired and always sleepy. The cycle will more likely continue because the body will crave for more sugar after the sugar level has dramatically decreased. This is why when you eat sweet food, it feels like you are not getting full and you easily crave for more.
Frequent fluctuations of the sugar level in the bloodstream can result to a condition known as sugar sensitivity. This condition is characterized by a low beta-endorphin and serotonin level in the body. Serotonin is a chemical in the body which is responsible for helping the body in producing energy. When the level of serotonin becomes low, you will feel tired all the time and will sometimes experience lack of concentration. On the other hand, endorphin is a chemical in the body which is responsible for regulating stress and depression. When the level of endorphin becomes relatively low, you become more prone to depression which can then lead to insomnia and other sleeping problems.
When you consume too much sugar, you are also likely to develop diabetes. Although diabetes is said to be hereditary, you can still experience this condition if you do not control your sugar intake. Diabetes is a very widespread health issue which can be dangerous if it reached a severe level.
The best thing to do to avoid complications related to sugar intake is to talk with your doctor. You can also have some blood tests that can determine the sugar level in your blood. In this way, your doctor can advise you better and it will be easier for you to work out a plan for getting rid of too much sugar and tiredness.
