Correcting your diet to support improved weight gain
Like many of you, I spent years trying to gain weight and I was finally able to do so by correcting my diet and looking in to weight gainer supplements. Here we'll discuss how you can follow suit and get rid of that unwanted skinny guy image.
If you’re reading this article then I’m sure it’ll be because you’re a skinny guy who more than likely has an interest in weight training and is looking to gain some weight. So if you’re one of those who find gaining weight an impossible struggle then you’ve come to the right place. We’re going to look at two areas which we’ll be able to improve so that you will quickly begin to stack on the weight; diet and weight gaining supplements.
Your diet will consist of two main food groups and they are protein and carbohydrates. Foods such as chicken,
steak and tuna are all very high in protein and will therefore assist in muscle reparation and growth, but will not help with weight gain in anyway shape or form. If you have too much protein it will simply be passed straight through, it won’t be added to your belly! Hence many people on weight loss diets stick to high protein and low carbohydrate consumption. You’ll find carbs in foods like pasta, rice, potato, muesli and bread. The carbs found in these food types are all complex carbohydrates which will provide sustained release energy, a much better choice than simple carbohydrates like sugar. By having too much sugar you’ll simply going to cause a sugar crash shortly afterwards which will make you feel all lethargic. So to gain weight start by making sure you are consuming a high level of complex carbohydrates throughout the day. Start your morning of with a big bowl of muesli, followed later on by some nice thick sliced sandwiches or jacket potato and at night treat yourself to a nice large bowl of pasta. That probably already sounds like too much food to stomach and the thought of adding even more high calorie foods to your diet may not sound the most tempting. After all, I’m not sure about you but I personally find that if I force feed too much food in then I just feel really bloated and so lethargic that I just sit infront of the tv and don’t move! This is where a weight gainer supplement is ideal. Often providing up to 1000 calories per serving, a weight gainer is packed full with carbohydrates and protein and I’d recommend having one serving mid-morning and another at night just before heading to bed. This means you’re body will be getting supplied with a large serving of calories 3 times a day from your regular diet and then an additional 2 times a day from the weight gainer. This will have you packing on the weight in no time! Just remember to keep your cardio training e.g running and cycling, to a minimum because you don’t want to be burning away those wanted calories!
