Dentists For Busy People
Do you make the excuse that you are too busy to go to the dental office? With changes in schedules and offerings, dentists are trying to battle this busyness to get people in the door.
Even with the assistance of technology,
people’s schedules are becoming more and more busy. Leaving the office early is nearly impossible. Finding time to schedule appointments with doctors and dentists is becoming increasingly difficult. It is with this in mind that many practitioners are changing their office hours to accommodate this increased busyness.
One simple thing that offices are doing is opening an hour to half hour earlier. For example, this means that appointments that used to start at nine in the morning are now being offered at eight a.m. or half past eight. This seems like a simple change, but it can mean all the difference to someone that needs to be at work at nine and only needs to schedule a cleaning or check-up.
Dentists are also encouraging more people to schedule their appointments during their lunch breaks. A dentist can usually get simple work done within a half-hour or forty-five minute period and if a person has an hour lunch they will be able to grab a yogurt or shake and have their lunch on the way back to the office. This is a great way to go to the dentist and not have to take time off to do so. Just make sure you find a dental office that is near your work—maybe within walking distance.
Some dental office are staying open later in the day and reserving those later appointments only for working individuals. This varies from office to office though so it is important to check ahead of time to see if a particular dentist is accommodating. For example, one day a week an office might be open until 7 p.m. for working clientele.
Aside from the earlier or later schedule changes is the fact that offices are being more accommodating by providing free wi-fi. Patients are encouraged to bring their work with them for the waiting room. With internet access, you can be away from your desk but not from your office. Send emails and communicate on important meetings all way waiting to get a filling.
Some dentists are finding more efficient ways of treating busy patients. Procedures like fillings, cleaning, even bleaching and whitening are becoming more streamlined. Meaning a person can get more done to their teeth in less time. The technology surrounding these procedures is decreasing the patient’s time in the chair. Check with your dentist to see what the average time is in their office for some of the aforementioned procedures.
There is no end to the possibilities available to busy people seeking good dentists. When searching for an office that will accommodate your schedule ask about earlier or later appointment times, access to the internet and the length of procedure times. You may find a dentist that is empathetic to your busy schedule.
