As you are already well aware of… you are hungover! Follow these three simple steps for a healthy hangover recovery.

Hangover Cure: Drink

The first thing you must do is consume several glasses of room temperature water. Dehydration is the leading cause of a hangover and the only way to fix it is with plenty of water. Keeping the water at room temperature will make it easier on your stomach.

Hangover Cure: Eat

Depending on your hangover this is a lot easier said than done. Even if you don't think you can, trying to eat something will speed up your hangover recovery. While there are many hangover myths about what is the best breakfast to cure a hangover, we will stick with science. Eggs are a hangover miracle food. Eggs contain a large amount of cystein which actually helps break down the excess toxins in your system. Any breakfast with eggs as the main dish will surely be a good start. Potassium rich fruits like bananas, or kiwis, are a great side as they will help replenish electrolytes and nutrients lost from alcohol’s diuretic effect. Bland food likes toast are another good option for the severe hangovers that prevent you from eating most foods.

Hangover Cure: Relax

You have now addressed the main causes of your hangover, and are on the road to recovery. How you deal with the rest of the day is up to you. The best option is a luke warm shower and a nap. The shower will help clear some of the fog in your head and soothe your overactive nervous system, while the nap will give your body time to utilize the healing affects of your breakfast.
