You kid will go through changes at a very fast pace,
and this therefore requires proper diet. Needless to say, that you as a parent should be totally in charge of your kid’s diet plan. This is the phase when they grow and they need to be fed a diet which is ideal for their daily work and play as they have a lot on their plate. For your kid, a healthy diet plan should include foods that are important for his/her growth but also do keep in mind their likes and dislikes. Apart from this, playing outdoor games is must, as physical activities at this stage take care of their future development a great deal. Here are some tips to ensure your kid’s good health.
* Make food Fun: It is fun to have a meal with family after a day of classes at school. Do make sure to eat with your kid at least one meal a day, and try not to repeat the menu! Your child could be bored of that particular food before long. Also make sure, your kid’s lunch box has some fruits, instead of giving whole fruits, make a salad and add a whip of cream, yummy is the word.
* Breakfast is must: Breakfast is the most essential meal of the day, break the word and you will find two words, ‘break’ and ‘fast’. So, breaking the fast after an entire night is very important, as it restores your energy for the day. If you do not want your kid’s day to be a drag then make sure that he or she eats breakfast every day. Plenty of carbohydrates is important, and so try cereal with milk, fruit or yoghurt, toast or bread, perhaps with lean meats.
* Bring in some Variety: Variety of foods is the secret for good health, and so you must be able to get all the different nutrients each day with variety of foods. And since there is no single food that contains them all, it is important to balance your daily choices. Also remember that there are no good or bad foods, so you can also enjoy the foods you like.
* Carbohydrates are a must: Most of the calories that you kid should receive from his or her diet should come from carbohydrates. Foods such as cereals, rice, pasta, potatoes and bread are the best options; include at least one of these at every meal. Also you must try whole grain bread, pasta and other cereals for that extra fibre.
* Games: We definitely do not mean video games; we are talking about games that need physical involvement. Let your kid play outdoor games, whatever that may be, even better if you get him or her involved in a sport that he or she has interest in.
