Reverse osmosis, as the short form goes RO is the technique used to purify water. Many households today use these RO purifiers and are somewhat unaware of the fact that these water purification machines produce a lot of wastewater.
They purify the normal water and give out two kinds of water, one is the good water which is good to drink with low TDS in it and the other one is the waste water which contains high TDS. This process of reverse osmosis is pretty much simple. First the water passes through the membrane where the water experiences an applied osmotic pressure and removes insoluble matter from it. The water which has less insoluble matter in it, passes freely through the membrane. The water which still has the insoluble matter in it passes through a pipeline directly into the sink below the water purifier.Surprisingly, the ratio of wastewater to clean drinking water is 8:1. The wastewater is a byproduct of the process of osmosis. The water which comes out as waste just has a high level of TDS present in it. No one added any chemicals in it. The water just contains some insoluble particles, which does not make it fit for drinking. This water can be used for other activities which do not require a pure form of water. Activities such as, washing cars, watering plants, washing clothes and many more. Moreover, this water can also be used to fill up an aquarium, as it mostly contains salts which are fit for marine animals. This waste water can also be used to fill up a pond in your garden, which could add an extra grace to your house premises. The waste water has many uses, it depends on the person how they use it. If the state government takes action and draws pipeline through every home carrying this waste water, then this water can also be reused by the citizens of the state or, it can also be used for filling up public swimming pools by just adding a small amount of chlorine in it.In conclusion, the waste water which comes out of the RO water purifier can actually help to recharge our ground water. The water resources on the earth are depleting very quickly, so wasting this much of water on a large scale and cause a scarcity of water in the near future. Rather than letting this water get wasted, let's put a use to it and carry on to sustainable development. After all the resources on earth are precious and water is the most important one.
Water Borne Diseases attack in India
India is a developing nation and is working hard to grow itself towards becoming a powerful country. Apart from political and economic issues, there are some other concerns that are hampering its growth process. Poor health of the citizens is amongst them. There are places which is abundant in water supply while there are some other places which are deprived of clean potable water. Both these situations lead to water borne diseases which are caused due to contamination of water and poor sanitation and unhygienic conditions. The death toll caused by water borne diseases is widely spread in rural as well as urban areas.Health Zone RO System Private Limited
