Science recently revealed the Science 2017 Top Employer results.
It has been 15 years since the first Top Employers Survey conducted by Science took place, targeting biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals companies. The survey evaluates companies from financial strength, agility, and R&D. Each company’s final rankings are based on a number of factors, including the status of industry innovations, whether the corporate culture values are in line with the employee's personal values, and whether employees are respected. Social responsibility is also counted.
Recently, Science announced the Science 2017 Top Employer. Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (USA), Novozymes (Denmark) and Vertex Pharma (USA) ranked the top three in the list. Top 10 list includes: Merck KGaA (Denmark), Novo Nordisk (Denmark), Moderna Therapeutics (USA), Genentech (USA), Eli Lilly (USA), Biocon (India), AbbVie (USA).
It is worth mentioning that, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals ranked first or second for seven years, during which ranking first for five years (2017, 2016, 2014, 2013 and 2012) and second for two years (2015 and 2011), becoming the highest ranked company in the past 10 years. And AstraZeneca re-entered the list six years after its departure and the company's last entry was in 2011, ranking 19th.
In 2017, nearly 7,000 respondents answered the online survey, the highest in 15 years. As in previous years, respondents ranked enterprise innovation, a positive work culture and social responsibility as the top factors in evaluating the best employers. Emphasis was also placed on enterprises' broad support for science education.

Work experience: 10 years and above work experience (69%);
Company type: pharmaceuticals (35%), biotechnology (23%), biopharmaceutical (36%), university (1%), others (5%); private sector employees (over 90%);
Function: Development (28%), Applied research (19%), Basic research (14%), Administration (8%), QA / QC / RA (7%), other (13%); (Note: the invited staff can chose more than one).
Geographic region: North America (65%), Europe (25%), Asia / Pacific Rim (7%), others (3%).
