Recent researches shown that resveratrol not only helps to protect plants from being attacked,The Answer Resveratrol (Trans Resveratrol) - Health Benefits Articles but it has the same effect on the human body.

Resveratrol can be found in peanuts, berries, including raspberries, cranberries, bilberries and others. It is found that inside the peel of the grape that is made to produce red wine, there are substantial amounts of resveratrol (trans resveratrol).

How resveratrol was found?

The weird phenomena called the “French paradox” contributed a lot in discovering resveratrol. The average French diet contains a lot of fat and calories.  Back in 2002 the average French consumed 108 grams of fat per day, from animal sources, while the average American consumed “only” 72 grams. However statistics shows that French people have lower rate of heart disease and weight less than the American people.  Scientists were driven to find out why this is happening. They found that French people drink a glass of red wine with almost every meal. They realized that there is must be something inside the red wine that got something to do with this phenomena. The answer was – Resveratrol.

Experiments that were conducted on lab rats shown that resveratrol was integrating with different molecules targets and had positive effects on the cells of skin ,gastric, colon , breast cells and more. It was learned that resveratrol can be effective when it comes to preventing different kinds of cancer. It was reported that rats that that were under the effect of resveratrol ran faster than the other group of rats. Rats that were fed with resveratrol (trans resveratrol) for fifteen weeks had better treadmill endurance.

In a study of 123 Finnish adults, after consuming resveratrol for a certain period of time, they experienced faster metabolisms, their cells burned energy more efficiently—indicating that the same effects resveratrol (trans resveratrol)had on lab mice will be the same on humans. Other lab experiments shows that resveratrol can prevent heart diseases , heart attacks, low the cholesterol level in the human body, and helps to use energy better.

Drinking red wine is sometimes not the optimal solution for resveratrol consumers. In one glass of red wine there are not enough amounts of resveratrol, by drinking red wine you will consume more calories, you can get drunk since red wine contains some amounts of alcohol that can make you feel dizzy and have bad effect on the liver.

Thanks to technology, scientist have found a way to isolate resveratrol (trans resveratrol) and  process it into small capsules, that contains the right daily amounts of resveratrol (trans resveratrol) without damaging its health benefits. This way, consumers can use the health benefits of resveratrol without taking the risk involve in consuming alcohol.  The health benefits of resveratrol have been harnessed by researches to benefit people that do not drink red wine.
