US Military Technology Innovates Special Hearing Aid
New developments in hearing aid technology are being used in the United States military
The United States military is constantly developing new technology for soldiers in combat roles around the world. From advanced weaponry to specialized armor like helmets and body gear,
the US military has funneled billions over the years to develop the latest and greatest technology for soldiers and contractors in the field. More recently, the United States military has invested millions into a specialized hearing aid for soldiers to be use in several different capacities.
This special hearing aid can allow soldiers to hear communication while surrounded by heavy gunfire or loud explosions, enabling them to know how to escape or maneuver in such a situation. Since its development, Special Forces soldiers have been using them in combat scenarios the world over. Because this innovation saves lives, the US military has invested millions into this tiny piece that can fit into the ear or be attached within a special helmet.
Another development consists of a hearing aid that would allow soldiers to be able to hear chatter or a conversation from several hundred yards away. This is specifically important for translators as communication could be acquired secretly, translated, and used for on the ground intelligence. This could allow for several soldiers to venture on more successful reconnaissance missions. The technology is so mission critical, the technological development arm that is paid for by the Pentagon has invested millions into this device.
Because the Department of Defense enjoys the largest military budget of any other country's military establishment in the world, billions have gone into the research, testing, and development of special devices and software that can make missions easier for soldiers on the ground. This is specifically important for those on the ground who are putting their lives in harm's way. Such a hearing aid could save the lives of thousands of soldiers who find themselves in areas of low visibility while bombarded with heavy and loud gunfire and explosions.
As the United States continues its War on Terror throughout the Middle East and North Africa, it is likely that more boos on the ground will appear in places like Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Jordan, Libya, Oman, and Yemen for the foreseeable future. This will mean that there will be an ever greater need for these types of technologies that save the lives of soldiers. Indeed, it will be important for the US military to extrapolate intelligence from the ground while simultaneously securing the lives of highly trained ground soldiers.
Air support will undoubtedly continue to support ground forces, but new developments in military technology will further the missions of ground troops and clandestine activities. As such, the Pentagon and the Department of Defense will continue to develop these technologies by investing into public programs and awarding private contracts to companies who set up shop to service the needs of the military establishment. As warfare and combat continues to evolve, the world will see more and more developments in military technology for militaries around the globe.
