Veneers Mask Dental Blemishes
Veneers are life-savers to those who have experienced either minimal or major tooth discoloration. They can cover up unsightly damage and provide patients with a renewed sense of self-confidence.
People of all ages have desires to improve the look of their teeth. They may get braces to straighten them. They may get dental implants to replace missing teeth. They may even wear dentures. Whatever the case may be,
their main desire is to make themselves look more aesthetically pleasing. Another effective dental procedure involves the covering of the tooth with veneers. One of the reasons someone may choose to go this particular route is to cover the discoloration they may be experiencing. Contrary to what some may believe, there are several different causes for tooth discoloring. One of the more common reasons is caused by drinking certain beverages, such as coffee. Some people drink coffee every day, several times per day. Because of the frequency, they give themselves a better chance of messing up their teeth, as far as the color goes. Drinking tea can cause this same effect. Tea and coffee aren't the only culprits, however. Drinking red wine for an extended amount of time can also cause a stain. Veneers are also a good choice for those who used to use or currently use tobacco products. This includes cigarettes, pipes, and cigars. For some people, the use of these products is a bad habit. For others, it is a choice and a form of recreation. Whatever the case may be, there is still a good chance that they will see either a slight or major form of tooth discoloration. This is especially true for those who smoke on a regular and frequent basis. Then, there are those whose issue isn't necessarily caused by smoking or drinking certain beverages. Their issue, however, includes their teeth beginning to rot or decay. Although they will most likely need to get their tooth replaced at some point, veneers are a good substitute in the meantime. Sometimes, people don't have the money, time, or desire to get a tooth replacement. Therefore, they may go with this quicker and less expensive procedure. These tooth covers can help to hide the areas that have turned brown and black due to decay. Enamel erosion can also cause tooth discoloration. One of the things that can cause this dental issue is drinking too many acidic drinks, as well as eating highly acidic foods. Some people may not realize that several fruits are on the list of acidic foods. Of course, this shouldn't discourage people from eating them. However, the best bet would be to drink water afterwards. However, what is someone to do after the damage to their enamel has already been done? Drinking water is obviously not going to solve all of their problems. That is why veneers are so essential. Because enamel doesn't come back after is has been lost, there needs to be a way to properly cover up the damage. There have been several dental products and procedures that have come and gone over time. However, veneers have stood the test of time.
