Long gone are the times where geeks were loathed on, shoved into toilets, and usually made fun of for the way they clothe themselves. In fact, now you may even be considered fashionable for dressing like a nerd. It started when glasses, suspenders, bow ties, and other similarly dorky items from the 1950s and 1960s became cool things to wear. Today you can see elements of this in college and hipster fashion.

The most important feature of the geek style is graphic Ts, particularly ones starring a fantasy or sci-fi logos. A such example might show a picture of Darth Vader with the famous words emblazoned, Come to the Dark Side. Others may prefer references to video games or animated films, depending on their particular niche.  This once looked down upon subculture has not only found public exposure, but has slowly become a prominent majority. Even persons who do not have the credentials of a nerd still wear the same nerdy T-shirts.
But what must make somebody want to look like a nerd?   Well first of all, it tells people that you have wit and intellect. Most people will assume that if you own a shirt that references a cult classic, you must also be well read and have good interest in film. It also shows you have enough confidence to wear your nerdiness on your sleeve, literally. Geeks are also known for being handy, modern, and having a quirky sense of humor.  Let us face it, nerds have created their own unique style and culture. One that, whether we want to admit it or not, want to be a part of.
