Guide for leveling your world of warcraft mage.

The WOW Mage is simular to Mage's that you might have seen in other fantasy games. Generally the Mage is strong on intelligence and wisdom but lacking in strength and stealth. The world of warcraft Mage fits this description,WOW Mage Leveling & Quest Guide Articles but the magical abilities of the mage of world of warcraft makes it a formidable character.

WOW Mage Leveling & Quest Guide As a Mage you should always avoid melee combat, the mage is just not designed for any form of hand to hand combat. The Mage can deal out incredible damage but without any self healing capabilities the Mage does not bode well under fire. The Mage has some really cool abilities that are of great benefit to themselves and their group, such as the ability to conjure food and water, cause great wide spread damage to its enemies, and transport themselves and their group to capital cities from anywhere. Lets look at some traits of the available Mage races: The fact that the Mage class has no way to heal itself makes the draenei race a good race to consider for its Gift of the Naaru healing ability.Along the same lines as the draenei, the troll race is helpful with its regeneration ability, though not quite as effective as the Gift of the Naaru.I find that the blood elf makes for a nice Mage using its Arcane Torrent and Arcane Affinity it can do some serious damage. The gnome makes a good Mage with its Expansive Mind to replenish mana and Escape Artist is very useful in getting out of sticky situations.I feel that humans are just so-so as a Mage. They have diplomacy which will help your reputations but they don't help the Mage class much as they have sword and mace specializations which are of no use to the Mage class. The forsaken race only helps the Mage when battling a priest or warlock and little else so I don't recomend them unless you really want a challenge. In the beginning, keep things simple for your character to make the first few levels a little easier to get through. Get used to your characters traits, spells and fighting techniques. Do your best to only stay in combat for short periods of time. Use range weapons and spells to keep your character out of harms way. But don't misinterpret this as just fooling around. Pay close attention to questing and be sure to do every quest you can get your hands on. If you think you have completed all the quests in your present area check again to be sure. Each Mage trainer will have new and valuable information for the world of warcraft Mage, so learn all you can. As a Mage you will be able to find much info throughout world of warcraft, and not just from the trainers. The Mage seems to do well with the tailoring and jewelcrafting professions as the mage can't use regular armor. Leveling a Mage will be much easier with a mount which you can get when level 20 is reached.Mage PVP Guide If your just starting out in world of warcraft you should consider playing a Mage as it is pretty easy to play. Although the Mage is generaly a weak class it's fireball spell does a nice job to eliminate it's enemies. Also the Mage starts off with Frost Armor which is a great self buff making leveling easier. These two abilities make the Mage very formidable even at lower levels, especially when in a group.
