Can I Get A Coffee Table With Built In Coasters?
A beautiful coffee table can offer a great finishing touch to a room. Even though a room may be perfect in every other way, without this final piece of furniture, there seems to be a hole right in the center. A hole that would be perfectly filled with a coffee table.
Coffee tables have on e serious problem for coffee drinkers. You always have to find some kind of coaster for the coffee table before you sit down your cup of coffee or it leaves a ring. Why something that is called a coffee table,
have to have a coaster in order for me to sit down my coffee. If it just had another name things would be different.
The truth is, they are named coffee tables. Should I not be able to serve coffee on my coffee table and let my guest set their cups on said table? Did I miss something? Why give a piece of furniture a name that implies a specific use, but design it in such a way that it cannot be used for that use without modification?
Now, I have nothing against coasters. Some of them are very pretty while others are amusing. They can be educational through the trivia printed on them by restaurants. But why should a coaster be paired with a coffee table?
If coasters are intended for use with coffee tables, why are they not stored nearby. People buying new coffee tables seem to always also stock up on coasters, but it is only when you sit your cup down, that the host remembers that the two go together. It's like you just set off an alarm bell in their head and they head out to the mystery room where the coasters are kept to grab that coaster just for you.
Do coasters and coffee tables fight when company is not around? If not, why not keep the coasters on the coffee table. It would make so much more sense and might serve as a reminder for you to use a coaster. Hey, it might even save your host from having to hear the alarm bell.
Here is a brilliant idea that someone should patent immediately. The patent is for the perfect coffee table. This coffee table has built in coasters. Then you could sell the patent to every coffee table manufacturer around the world. This idea could become the hottest item ever to be created.
This is an idea that could work. It would save marring the beautiful artwork of the furniture maker, simply by attaching the coasters. Maybe they could actually make their artwork even more beautiful with the coasters. As an alternative, they could design the entire table around the coaster type that they choose.
This idea could save many embarrassing moments for both hosts and guests. It could save thousands of steps to the coaster hiding place and there would never be a water stain on the table caused by some uncouth guest.
Okay, the idea may be a bit futuristic to do you any good now. So you still need to buy coasters that match your coffee table. Put them where they are easily spotted for use. And remember, when you do finally see that coffee table with built in coasters, you read it here first.
