Unless you want to reach the gutter from the roof, you have to use a step ladder to clean the rain gutter. So take a stepladder that reaches the proper height. Climb the steps carefully and use a broom to clean the leaves and the other bigger stuffs first. Then, stoop over the duct and carefully wipe out the small specs. Use a water pipe to brush off the left remains of the gutter. Gutter cleaning has to be done step by step, first cleaning it without water and then carefully with water. Aim the water pipe through the duct so that the rushing water can take along with it the dust and the dirt. If you can still see some residual debris, take the water pipe and clean the duct once again. This is one way you can do your gutter cleaning.

Gutter Cleaning without a Ladder

If you are scared of climbing a ladder, fearing that you might topple down with the ladder, there is an escape route for you. You do not have to worry and drop your sleep over this. You can use gutter tongs which are high enough to do the gutter cleaning. However, they are not as thorough as the other methods of gutter cleaning. If your roof top is not very slanted and can be easily walked over, you can climb on top of the roof and clean your gutter. The only problem is that they won’t give you sparkling, speck free cleanliness. You can try climbing to your roof only if it is not very tilted. Also, if your roof is snow clad, it is best to avoid climbing on the roof since it is bound to be slippery and risky.

How to Remove the stains while Gutter Cleaning

No one wants stains to be left, especially if you are doing the gutter cleaning yourself. Removing gutter stains left by the prolonged stay of leaves rotten in water is definitely not compulsory, but can always be implemented to get a cleaner rain gutter. So, for stain removal purpose, sprinkle bleaching powder throughout the gutter. Allow the bleach to stay there for some time and then wash it off with water to get a clean, stainless gutter.
