For example if a driver causes injury to another person or property a total of 8 points would be added to his driving record. Also if a driver is speeding over 30 mph above the speed limit, he would incur 5 points. A driver who is convicted of speeding might be slapped a fine of a maximum of $202. In a construction zone the fine can be doubled.
