It is a page that generates income for you. It is the one where you do marketing for your services or products. This is where you convert your potential traffic into income.

The main goal of an effective landing page is to make surfers to buy a particular product and service you are recommending on your website. Before writing your landing page, you should have a clear goal as to what you want your traffic to do once they click it. When a surfer makes the desired action you are anticipating on your lead capturing page, then that is termed as a conversion.

Three Types of Landing Pages

1. Reference Lead Capturing Page

This is the one that delivers information that is relevant to surfers. It mainly gets traffic from Google Adwords.

2. Transactional Lead capturing Page

This type mainly seeks to persuade surfers to fill a form. The objective of this form is to capture the information contacts of the surfers such as e-mail addresses, phone numbers and addresses. These contacts are used to keep in touch with them which eventually lead to sales.

Usually, this page withholds some contents which prompt the visitors to fill a form in order to get the rest of the content. It applies the principle of important but incomplete.

3. Squeeze Lead capturing Page

This is mostly used in direct marketing. It mainly targets and focuses on capturing information from the surfer. It has a very high conversion rate.

If you want your landing pages to get high conversion rates, then aim at making them to be clear, easy to read and without distractions. If it distracts visitors, then it denies you the conversion rate.

Make sure your effective landing pages don’t trouble your surfers when loading. They should load quickly to avoid wasting visitor's time since the internet is a fast world of its own.

Use the same font colors and visual elements for your advertisement on your lead capturing page. This assures your visitors that in deed they are on the correct landing page that they actually clicked. Make your visitors understand what you’re telling them without confusing them.

If you find that the product logos and graphic images don’t direct your visitor to the desired action you are anticipating, the best decision is to remove them.

Avoid many clicks that visitors have to click in order to be directed to your landing page. A single click on their mouse is convenient.
