the answer not surprisingly, is Jeans. Every person owns jeans of some kind or the other, in many different colours which they might use for different occasions that are either casual or occasionally even formal.
While many people know what a jean is, not many are aware of its origin. Originating from the French phrase bleu de Gênes, meaning blue of Genoa, blue jeans were originally created by Levi Strauss, who in partnership with Jacob Davis, made such clothing for the factory workers during World War II. As the years past, the clothing was re-enforced with metal fasteners and copper rivets and was made to look much slimmer, giving them a modern appeal. Made from cotton fibre, denim jeans especially from noted brands are natural, unlike those made from artificial fibre. Jeans have therefore gone through a number of changes through the decades. Although they originally were sturdy and rough and fit rather loosely, with time, they were created more stylishly, incorporating clothing patches, metallic buttons and other paraphernalia.
The credit for popularising this clothing goes to James Dean who wore it in the movie, Rebel Without a Cause. Ever since then, the youth, college goers and people of all ages have made wearing jeans a style statement.

Jeans are made for male and female separately, although most often, they can be interchanged and are called unisex jeans.
