Amazon India Fashion Week Spring Summer 2016 largely propounded the concept of Make in India with many designers seeking inspirations from traditional couture of the country. This enchanting event running for five days is always a favourite for the fashion lovers and this year was just the same. The shows were attended and designs were cheered by the famous celebrities sitting in the front rows. The entire event was a star-studded show with leading designers exhibiting their collections and celebrities cheering them.
From the Day 1, many famous divas from Bollywood came well dressed to attend the show of their favourite designers. Designer sarees collection, designer suits collection, and designer saree gowns collection were the flavour of this year’s fashion week. The same trend was seen off the ramp as well.
Who wore what on Day 1?
The show began with the designers’ collection of sarees, suits, and other dresses presented by Sanjay Garg of Raw Mango, beach wear collection from Shivaan and Naresh, ethnic wear from Kavita Bhartia, and new designers like Anavila Mishra.
The show of designer sarees collection from Sanjay Garg was attended by the celebrities like Soha Ali Khan, Konkana Sen Sharma, Mini Mathur, and veteran actress Dipti Naval.
Deepti Naval sported a traditional Chanderi saree in white matched with a pink blouse and pink clutch. On the other hand, Soha Ali Khan looked scintillating in her peach coloured Anarkali suit and an ivory bag.
Konkana Sen Sharma looked refreshing in her green saree matched with cream printed blouse and a brown cross body bag. Mini Mathur wore a monochromatic grey saree with belt and a striped blouse. Pernia Qureshi also attended day in a slit dress from Payal Khandelwal.
Who wore what on Day 3?
Day 3 had some celebrities walking the ramp as showstoppers for their favourite designers. Pernia Qureshi walked for Archana Rao in a full-length skirt in peach colour and a white belted top with a kundan necklace. On the same day, Lauren Gottlieb walked the ramp for designer Nikita Tandon in a white asymmetrical dress.
Who wore what on Day 4?
The day 4 had designer saree gowns collection and designer sarees collection being showcased by the famous designers. Athiya Shetty walked for Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna in a shimmering grey gown with front slit.
Amidst the designers’ collection of sarees, designer suits collection, and designer saree gowns collection, AIFW 2016 showcased the best trending fashion from talented Indian designers cheered by these famous celebrities.
