The Design Idea of the Lightest Basketball Shoes

Although this sounds a bit crazy, but today is indeed the NIKE Air Hyperflight tenth anniversary since its birth. Since June 16, 2001, Nike Basketball's Flight series had been the mark for the new Nike shoes trend, its streamlined appearance and futuristic design made a great contribution to the world shoes market. The bright color and its fake pearl effect made Hyperflight a hot topic as soon as it was listed and the Hypeflight shelves were all sold out. Eric Avar, as the designer of these shoes, has devoted more energy in the design process compare with other shoes, so the reward he had got was really deserved. The design inspiration of these shoes did not from a car, or simply from the athletes' needs, or from the shoes complex story, he was simply inspired by a NIKE company partner.
The shoes design concept and inspiration were all come from Bill Bowerman, a coach of the Oregon University and the former Nike partner, even Nike Company had its own lightweight shoes design team. Avar explained, when he was only a layman of Nike, far from those proven success of Bill, he just followed the footsteps of these predecessors to go forward. Bill's life is very dramatic, his legacy and his once fortune in his life had all left to Nike.
For most people, they do not familiar with the story of Bill as the track coach of the legendary Oregon University. Bill was often help is athletes to reduce their shoes weight, and just because of the lightweight shoes, his team always won the first place in their games. Bowerman and Phi Knight together established the Nike Company. For his economic mind, Bill was responsible for the company's business and marketing. The large amount of Bill's practical and professional knowledge help him create the whole company's shoes design framework.
For Eric Avar, he spend the entire year of 2000 for the design of a new shoe, and also at time time he reminded the history of Bowerman's Nike story, thus became the inspiration of his design of Hyperflight. "Bill's Nike story is just my design inspiration, so the significance of him is equal to me", Avar stressed. Bill's Nike spirit inspired Avar in his design of Hyperflight, and he admired Bill quite much.
With the constant development of the basketball shoes, street ball culture emerged, hip-hop appeared, players were constantly promoting their own personality, the presence of these factors have also decided the need for this arrogance and fearless spirit product-the Hyperflight.
Ten years past since the birth of Hyperflight, its design principle is still work in today's design requirement.
