The trilogy bout between McGregor and Poirier is just around the corner.
UFC 264, which will feature a rematch between the UFC's biggest star Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier, is now only a few weeks away.
It'll be their third battle, with the score presently at one apiece. McGregor knocked out Poirier in the opening round of their Featherweight fight in 2014. Poirier repaid the favor earlier this year with a second-round knockout at UFC 267. The third bout will very likely decide who will face the current UFC Lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira, next.
Who will emerge victorious? At the moment, the chances are about 50/50. Given how decisive the first fight was, I anticipated McGregor to make quick work of Poirier in the second, but Poirier's better defense, as well as an improved chin at Lightweight, enabled him to survive early pressure in the first round before gaining control of the fight. Poirier knocked McGregor down in the second round with a combination of calf kicks and quick boxing.
Can McGregor overcome those calf kicks? Will he abandon his current boxing-heavy approach in favor of the light-footed karate mobility that characterized his previous fights? Is Poirier capable of striking lightning twice?
In any case, this battle is becoming hotter. When McGregor's $500,000 contribution to Poirier's Good Fight Foundation was delayed, Poirier went to Twitter, sparking a dispute between the two. While their second bout had a polite and courteous atmosphere, their third battle will undoubtedly be a much more personal affair.
In a nutshell, brace yourselves for a spectacular display.

UFC 264 Streaming Instructions
ESPN has joined forces with the UFC. That's fantastic for the UFC and the growth of the MMA sport, but it's terrible for customer choice. Especially if you're a UFC fan who wants to watch UFC in the US.
In the United States, the only way to watch UFC 264 live is on PPV through ESPN Plus. The pricing structure is a little perplexing, but according to ESPN's website, these are your choices for watching UFC on ESPN:
Existing annual ESPN Plus members may purchase the next UFC bout for $70.
Existing monthly ESPN Plus customers may either upgrade to an annual subscription and purchase UFC PPV for $85 or acquire the right to watch the UFC event on PPV for $70.
For$90, new ESPN Plus customers may purchase a package of one UFC PPV event (streaming in HD) and an ESPN Plus yearly recurring subscription. This is a good price. The old package saved you25%, while this new bundle saves you 35%. The ESPN Plus annual membership will auto-renew after one year at the price of an ESPN Plus annual subscription at the time of auto-renewal.
MMA fans in the United Kingdom can only watch UFC 264 on BT Sport. If you reside in Australia, you have more choices. UFC 264 may be seen on Foxtel's Main Event channel. You may also watch on the UFC website or app. You can even order using your PlayStation or the UFC app on your Xbox.
