The newsletter of your school is a powerful tool in keeping students,How to Make Your School Newsletter Design More Appealing? Articles teachers and parents informed. One can include a plethora of interesting events such as concerts, annual functions, plays, and school feast day celebration. Besides, there will also be a segment for highlighting achievements of students and staff. As far as achievements are concerned, both academic and extra curricular should be included in your school newsletter design.

All of this is only possible if it is designed in a professional manner. In this article, we will discuss about the ways of making it more appealing.

First Plan

First things first. You need to plan, and have a word with the school administration as to the use student's name, and the logo of the institution in the newsletter. You have to involve both teachers and students to make it a success.

Note down what you can include in the design, and what you can't.

Amuse Your Readers

School newsletters are generally published monthly, weekly or once in every semester. Besides information, keep your readers engaged by including some word game or crossword puzzle. Readers will be students, teachers and parents. The first five people solving the puzzle might be even rewarded with a prize.

The prize could be anything like a simple gift card or a tickets to visit the nearest zoo or museum. Make sure the graphic designer creates a neat and decent looking word game or puzzle.

Students Should be Given A Voice

A group of students will be planning the content, posts and articles of the publication. If it is a weekly publication, then students from English, Social Studies or Art classes should be given an opportunity to contribute. They can contribute anything like poems, short stories, or opinion pieces on some relevant social issues. In other words, they should be given a voice.

You can also include photos of the classrooms, library, or visuals from the annual function of the institution. It will retain the attention of readers, and they will like reading it.

Teacher's Content

A good school newsletter is one that includes contributions from teachers. For example, if the students scored very high grades in English, then the teacher can include her comments on how she groomed the pupils for better scores.

There could also be a section named, “From The Teacher's Desk”, where the subjects students are studying can be highlighted. Even suggestions on how parents can prepare their children can be incorporated.

Teachers can also include something on classroom projects, and how students are evaluated to gauge individual performance.

Contributions from Students

As far as student's contribution is concerned, I have already mentioned that they can make it more richer by including short stories or poetry. Additionally, if their is a student having good graphic designskills, he can actually help in the designing process.

Student's contribution can also include a special segment on educational trips with photos, camping, or any philanthropic activities undertaken by them.  Content and images of the prize distribution ceremony for outstanding academic results will also attract attention.
