Becoming a MFT is complicated. Juggling the day to day of a MFT is exigent. Completing one's CEUs to maintain the license doesn't have to be.
There are many highs and lows practicing as a Marriage and Family Therapist. There are many hurdles to leap along the way. Those hurdles may include an unusually difficult client, the occasional immediate family obligation, getting a long past due claim paid, generating new referrals, or just setting aside some personal time. Even though these are all common among most Marriage and Family Therapists (yet not all), there is one hurdle that all MFTs must encounter, continuing education.
MFT continuing education shouldn't be a burden. In fact, most states have allowed their MFTs to acquire much of their required CEUs online. This is fantastic news! Online continuing ed has become a more trustworthy and valuable way of obtaining one's CE credits. People are not afraid of using the internet like they were years ago. They trust it for about everything these days. Attaining one's CE is included in this.
Online MFT Continuing Education - 3 Benefits:
Time is the first benefit of online CE. The time required in attending a seminar is extensive. Time that will never be regained. Time is a precious commodity, not to be dealt with lightly, but to be used properly. If you can earn your CEUs at home online instead of traveling to a workshop, then you have much more time for your family and your practice.
Saving money is the second benefit of online CE. It costs a lot to travel to a workshop. When considering the cost of travel, the expense of hotels and rental cars, and meals, it adds up to big expense. When you earn your CEUs online, you do so at home. No travel expense, which means money saved.
Number three benefit is the reduction of stress. Travel always adds more stress. With all of the variable in place, there is an increased risk in something not working out. These components of potential failure are removed when you just need to go to your computer and find a course online. The process is simplified. This removes much stress. Life in general has plenty of stress. Stress reduction should be our goal. Achieving your CEUs online reduces stress while still attaining the requirements of continuing education.
