In the past several years,Why Choose Summerville, SC Real Estate? Articles Summerville, SC has attracted the attention of many home buyers.  In fact, it has become one of the most demanded areas to live in all of Charleston.  So, why do so many buyers choose Summerville?  I’ve listed below six of the main reasons people choose to relocated (or remain) in the area.

Affordability:  The average home list price right now is just under $200,000.  And, you can get a good starter home starting in the $140s.  Summerville is one of the most affordable areas for buying real estate in Charleston.

Great public schools:  In fact, Summerville has some of the best public school systems in all of Charleston.  The only city that rivals the Summerville Dorchester II school district is Mt. Pleasant.  You’ll find a range of sports and after school clubs, from football to robotics.

Nice neighborhoods:  Summerville has a good range of affordable neighborhoods to choose from.  Whether you’re looking for an older historic home, a golf community, or a new construction neighborhood, you should be able to find what you’re looking for in Summerville.  Summerville has an especially good selection of newer homes, since the increasing demand from home buyers has literally paved the way for new neighborhoods to be built.

Proximity to downtown Charleston and the beaches:  Although downtown and the beach aren’t within biking distance, Summerville residents can easily have an afternoon at the beach or spend an evening downtown.  Interstate 26 provides easy access for going in and out of Summerville.  Downtown Charleston is about a 30-40 minute drive from most sections of Summerville, and the beaches (Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, and Sullivan’s Island) are all about an equal driving distance of less than an hour.

Things to do:  While residents used to have to go to Mt. Pleasant or downtown for things to do, Summerville has its own entertainment now.  And, it is getting more and more restaurants and shops with each month that passes.  You can go to the movie theater, walk around the park, or fill a night with shopping or going out to eat without having to leave the area.

Charm and a small town feel:  Many buyers choose Summerville because it has all the conveniences of a city within a short drive, but it does not have a big city feel to it.  Take a stroll through historic downtown Summerville, and you may forget that you’re in a metro area with over 600,000 people!  If you’re looking to be removed from the hustle and bustle of Charleston, Summerville may be an ideal area for you to consider.
