The ultimate goal of any multi-level marketing company is to market products and services through individuals who obtain customers for the multi-level firm. Thus,Growing Your Business Team Articles MLM is also known as referral or relationship marketing. This industry has both its enthusiastic champions and scathing critics. As a result, anyone interested in getting involved with such a business venture should look at both sides.

Network marketers have to have the ability to select, inspire, and recruit others to become distributors in their team. Those new distributors will duplicate the team leader's success by also recruiting distributors and personally marketing the MLM company's products to his/her referrals. And so the levels of recruitment grow exponentially.

In the network marketing prospecting business, prospecting is an activity practiced daily.  As a network marketer you need to employ a variety of strategies in order to find people to talk to about your particular product/service and business. Therefore, the workday involves a great deal of conversation with other individuals. You must not run out of people to talk to, otherwise you run out of business. The majority of people are not business-minded, but aside from a few obvious exceptions you should approach everyone with the same open-mindedness you want them to have in regards to your business.   You really never know when someone may be interested in joining your team, and may actually be quite successful.  It is essential that you do not merely talk about the business: You have to clearly explain the benefits of your business and how your potential recruit will benefit by getting involved.  Also, your recruit has to feel that he/she can obtain customers for the MLM company's products or services and that their lives will also be impacted in a positive way.  When conducted properly the prospecting process yields a large number of people's names who you can also contact. Word of mouth is the best endorsement you can get and will do wonders by giving you valuable exposure.

There are several different network marketing prospecting tools that not only quickly cut to the heart of the matter, but also rather raise an emotional response. Some examples of prospecting tools are CD's, brochures, and classified ads. You can also employ the visuals of an effective DVD or, in the information age, host all of your company information online.  You can allow your prospects to access your online presentation in exchange for their contact information.  An increasing number of network marketers are now turning to the Internet so that they can prospect to an endless source of targeted leads. In this way, the goal of locating those who want to hear more about what you are offering is attained more easily, and can work 24/7.  Unlike traditional MLM tactics like formal presentations, conference calls, and at home briefings, you don't have to be there.  Your targeted leads can attend their own meetings at their own leisure.  This removes any pressure or awkwardness your prospects might feel and will allow them to keep a much more objective view of you and your business.

MLM inspires the hope of wealth created through an alternative business system. There has been some negative criticism towards network marketing prospecting. MLM generates much of the spam mail that floods email boxes. Being over-run by these unwanted communications is widely looked upon with annoyance especially when many of those emails promise the world with little to no effort. This has fueled the notion that MLM is a ''get rich scheme'' or pyramid scam that actually places more emphasis on recruitment than sales. Critics complain about the most successful MLM ventures captivating and deceiving recruits with their shining examples. Because of them, they say, the recruits blindly pursue the promise of accumulating wealth and obtaining independence.  Admittedly there have been many false promises made by members of various companies over the years and anyone considering joining any MLM opportunity should see through these false claims.

Any legitimate network marketing company will not reward its independent representatives unless they move products or services, which is the main objective of the MLM firm.  Recruiting others to duplicate your actions is a big part of this business model but nobody should earn any commissions and residual income unless you and everyone in your team acquires their allotted number of customers.  Do your research and make sure that when you start your own franchise and begin prospecting, you do things correctly and with the highest morals and ethics.  Lead by example.  Any business without integrity just isn't worth getting involved in, nor should you bring any dishonour to the company you align with.  It is a two-way street.  MLM membership definitely has its advantages - such as business-related tax advantages, the ability to inexpensively purchase certain items, inspirational meetings, making new friends/contacts, and learning a lot about business and yourself.

A thoughtful evaluation of the pros and cons is always necessary, but network marketing has been a legitimate business model for over 50 years and many people during that time have been able to yield positive results.
