My personal training clients all tell me that staying motivated while trying to lose weight is their biggest challenge. This challenge is great even with diets that actually work. Luckily, Diets That Actually Work - The 3 Keys To Staying Motivated And Focused Articles keeping clients focused and motivated has been an area that I have studied over the last 20+ years. Over that span of time, I have uncovered 3 keys to staying motivated while losing weight.

1) Set Weight Loss Goals

When you begin your weight loss program, set a goal weight and WRITE IT DOWN. The goal becomes tangible and real when you write it down. Also, set a goal for inches lost in key areas. For men, it might be the waist. For females, the hips and thighs.

The key to your success in staying motivated, is to share your goals with a significant other. Let them know the details of your program and ask them to support you.

VERY important!

When you share your goals and intentions with important people in your life, you feel more bound to your commitment. They will also provide you with encouragement, and help you avoid temptation. Diets that actually work, particularly in the long term, ALWAYS encourage support "systems".

2) Weigh Yourself Once A Week

Even with diets that actually work, individuals have a tendency to weigh themselves too often. Frequent weigh-ins are often sources of discouragement. The body tends to lose fats erratically, and often times individuals will actually GAIN weight. This phenomena is often due to water retention. By weighing in only once a week, dieters get a more accurate idea of their progress.

3) Visualize Your Results

It has been said that the brain cannot tell the difference between what is real and what is vividly imagined. While on your program, surround yourself with pictures that reflect a slimmer personal appearance.

If such pictures don't exist, find pictures of individuals with bodies that you admire. Keep those pictures close at hand and look at them several times a day. Imagine yourself with that slimmer body.

The key is to make visualization a daily habit.

Once you have built in motivation, your next task is to find diets that actually work.

Earlier this year, I was approached by my clients to find diets that actually work. Many had made new year's resolutions, and needed help. So I began researching ALL kinds of diets, in order to find diets that performed as advertised.

I even tried a few myself! Most of my research was done online, and I also conducted some phone interviews with the creators of popular diet plans.

I eventually narrowed my choices to diets that seemed to achieve very rapid weight loss, without sacrificing an individual's energy levels. I reccomended these diets as  Diets That Actually Work!
